US lawmakers want Trump to reinstate net neutrality rules
CNN – US lawmakers are urging President Donald Trump to allow internet service providers to continue blocking websites that violate net neutrality regulations.
Trump is currently considering whether to reinstitute a federal law banning internet service companies from blocking, throttling, or slowing traffic to websites that are not “neutral.”
Lawmakers in the House and Senate have introduced bills that would reauthorize that law.
A bipartisan group of lawmakers has proposed a bill to end net neutrality in a bipartisan group that includes Democratic Sens.
Richard Blumenthal and Tammy Duckworth, a Republican, and Democratic Reps.
Mike Doyle, Jody Hice, and Ted Lieu.
Trump has said the repeal of net neutrality would cause consumers to lose their access to online content and services.
