‘Censored’ CNN reporter on ‘Fake News’ tweet: ‘This is just not what America is’

The Associated Press – AUGUSTa, Ga.

(AP) A CNN reporter who tweeted a fake news story that the network had banned from its Twitter feed because it appeared to be from an anti-Trump group was censored and her tweet was deleted, her attorney said.

Lawyers for CNN contributor Abby Phillip wrote Friday that her account was deleted by the network and her personal Twitter account was “solved.”

The lawyer, Daniel Rosenbaum, said Phillip’s account was not deleted by CNN, but it was deleted because her tweet referred to a fake group that he said was not affiliated with the network, which he called an “extremist organization.”

The network said Phillip has been suspended from Twitter.CNN has been under scrutiny since The New York Times reported last month that the media company was considering removing news articles from its feed because of the bias of its reporters.

In an interview with ABC News last month, Phillip said the decision was not made by the company and that it was her responsibility to tell her story to the public.

“I think that’s what it comes down to.

I think it comes to what a news organization has to do,” Phillip said.

“You’re responsible for the truth, and I’m not going to say I’m a good reporter, I’m going to try to be truthful.

And I’m just going to keep doing my job and keep reporting what I think is right.”

Phillips was banned from Twitter last month after she retweeted a tweet saying CNN was “censoring” its coverage of the president.

The tweet was later deleted.

A tweet from an account with the handle @TNRNews said Phillip should be “condoned.”

The account has more than 11,500 followers and has a total of nearly 1 million followers.

Phillips did not immediately respond to a request for comment Friday from The Associated Images.ABC News has reached out to Phillip for comment.
